Privacy policy

Last updated October 12, 2026. Dibs is in early testing, and this policy covers the test version at dibshome.com.

The short version

  • Dibs keeps the to-do, never the message. Just the to-do, the date, and where it came from.
  • Your crew only sees what you add to the shared list. Never your email address or anything in My pile.
  • Never sold. No ads, no tracking, and your data never trains AI.
  • Delete it all anytime from Profile, in one step.

What Dibs collects

Your account

Your household

My pile and your private finds

My pile is your own list that only you can see, for things like a doctor's appointment or a surprise party. Dibs also keeps the to-dos it suggests for you, plus any senders you tell Dibs to always trust. Only you can see these.

Forwarded email and calendar links

Dibs only reads what you choose to send it, and only after you set it up:

What Dibs doesn't collect

No location, contacts, photos, or advertising IDs. No analytics or tracking cookies. Dibs doesn't follow you around the internet.

How it's used

Only to run Dibs for you and your household: signing you in, keeping the shared list in sync on everyone's phone, handing out leftover to-dos on dibs day, and sending the alerts and reminders you choose. That's the whole list.

Dibs never sells your information, never shows ads, and never uses what's in your household to train AI.

Who can see what

Services Dibs uses

A few companies help run Dibs. They only handle your information to provide their service to Dibs:

Dibs only shares information beyond this if the law requires it.

What's saved on your phone

Dibs uses your browser's storage to keep you signed in, remember your email for faster sign-in, and remember small things like which tips you've already seen. It doesn't use tracking cookies.

Your choices

Kids

Dibs is meant to be set up by adults. Kids under 13 shouldn't make their own account. A parent can add a child to the household by first name, with no phone, email, or account needed, and the parent checks off the child's tasks.

If you think a child under 13 made an account on their own, email us and we'll delete it.

Keeping it safe

Everything travels over an encrypted connection. Database rules make sure only people in a household can read or change it. Sign-in uses one-time codes, so there's no password to leak. No system is perfect, but Dibs keeps as little as it can, so there's less to protect.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. If it's a big change, Dibs will tell you in the app first.
